EHCP Assist

How EHCP Assist works

EHCP Assist turns the dates on your council letters into a live ledger: every legal deadline in your EHCP case, its exact regulation, whether it has been missed, and the single most useful thing to do about it today. Four steps, no jargon, no password.

  1. Check your deadlines, free

Start with the free deadline checker. Pick where your case is, enter the dates from your council's letters, and it shows every deadline that applies: what was due, when, and under which regulation. It runs entirely on your device and nothing you enter leaves it.

Most parents find at least one missed deadline the first time they check. Councils issued only 46.1% of new plans inside the legal 20 week limit in 2025.

  2. Sign up for Case Manager when you are ready

Case Manager is £29 a month and covers up to four children. Cancel from your account at any time and the next payment does not happen. You keep read-only access to your case forever. If you cancel within 30 days of your first payment, email hello@ehcpassist.co.uk and we refund it.

  3. Set up your case in two steps

Sign in with a link we email you, tell us where your case is, and enter the dates for that stage. Take them from the council's letters rather than memory where you can: the clocks run from those dates. You can add more dates any time as the case moves.

  4. Follow your next move

Your dashboard shows the full deadline ledger with live status: on track, act soon, breached, or done on time. Above it sits your next move: the one thing worth doing today, with the matching letter template ready. When a council duty is overdue, Case Manager says so plainly, cites the regulation, and gives you the words to push back.

The odds at Tribunal are good: 95 to 99% of decided appeals go the parent's way, and knowing your deadlines is where that starts. See everything Case Manager includes.

What runs underneath

The deadline engine is built from a 30 row table of statutory time limits in the SEND Regulations 2014 and the Children and Families Act 2014, checked against the legislation as published on legislation.gov.uk. It knows the exceptions too: which clocks the summer holidays can lawfully pause, and which, like the phase transfer deadlines, have no exemptions at all. Every deadline it shows carries its legal citation, so nothing asks for your trust without showing its source.

Common questions

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. You answer one question about where your case is and enter dates from letters you already have. Signing in is a link in your email. No password to remember.

Where do the deadlines come from?

From the SEND Regulations 2014 and the Children and Families Act 2014. Every deadline shows the exact regulation it comes from, verified against the legislation as published.

What if my case moves to a new stage?

Add the new date to Case Manager and the ledger recomputes instantly. Your next move updates to match.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is legal information: what the law says and when it applies to your dates. For advice on your individual case, IPSEA and your local SENDIASS give free help, and we link to them throughout the site.
